Webinar 02: From Passengers to Professionals
Women in Public Transport Jobs
For crores of women, the choice to use a bus is not just about the destination. The decision to ride starts with a simpler question: Do I feel safe? Do I feel comfortable? These everyday moments determine whether public transport is even an option.
The experience is shaped by the people who build the system. With only 1 woman driver for every 625 male drivers in India, the gender imbalance is clear. To build a system that’s inclusive, we need women at the table and behind the wheel.
Watch a recording of the second webinar in our Gender at the Centre Webinar Series hosted by ITDP India and GIZ India, which charts the roadmap from passengers to professionals. Because when mobility is built for everyone, it works better for all of us.
